Course Summary

As a science of language, linguistics is concerned primarily with language forms and meaning, but also with how language is used in contexts. Each field of study consists of various subfields and is at the intersection of a number of others such as philosophy, sociology, psychology, anthropology, neuroscience, and so forth.

This course provides an introduction to the field of linguistics, as well as a brief overview of its subdisciplines. It is intended for students who are interested in learning about languages, how they work, how they evolve, and how we can study them, as well as for anyone who wants to gain a thorough understanding of this field and its practical applications.
