Course Summary
Tai Chi is a system of exercise devoted to physical and mental wellbeing, with origins in Chinese martial arts. This course introduces many of fundamental movements of Yang style Tai Chi, as well as the ancient Chinese exercises known as Ba Duan Jin. Take time to learn the slow gentle movements of Tai Chi and work towards harmony of mind and a supple body.
This course offers a progression for those already familiar with this traditional Chinese exercise activity that confers positive health and wellbeing. It provides beneficial activity that can be embraced during the course and continues long after.
Please speak to your tutor before the first session if you have any health concerns or if you are pregnant.
Please wear comfortable clothing so you can move freely. You will be required to remove your shoes so you may wish to wear socks or bring some with you.
Change rooms are available.
Our teacher Fred Accary began learning Tai Chi in the early 1990s under long-term CAE teacher Leng Chaiwatanatorn. Fred has trained in the Yang, Dong, and National styles, and has been teaching Yang style Tai Chi at the CAE since 2022.
