Helen has performed at the Aria Awards with The Whitlams, The Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, and opened for Vika and Linda Bull, The Badloves and Russell Morris.
In 2015 Helen released Someday Love, 11 tracks of country soul pop which was featured in The Age and Sydney Morning Herald with air play on ABC Radio’s The Inside Sleeve nationally, RRR and PBS in Melbourne, FBI, 2SER and Eastside Radio in Sydney.
‘A beautiful selection of songs interpreted with great feeling and backed by some of Australia’s finest musicians.’ – Brian Wise, Off the Record / RRR.
‘Helen Ryder’s debut album is way overdue. To me, it sounds like the soundtrack to a romantic movie: Old Hollywood romantic, wistful and moving. The voice is exquisite and the playing is beautiful.’ – Jeff Jenkins, The Music / ABC radio.
Helen’s sophomore album, released in 2023, once again enlists Melbourne’s finest, with launches nationally. In the meantime Helen is further developing her successful festival and theatre show The Girl From Chickasaw County – An Ode To Bobbie Gentry, which played the Americana festival Out On The Weekend in 2021.
Helen can also be found regularly performing in her trio at select venues in Melbourne. Helen holds a Diploma of Music and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. With over 15 years of teaching experience Helen shares her knowledge and experience to inspire her students in all aspects of the voice in a fun and relaxed environment, providing positive support and feedback for all levels of students.
