Block in the structure of head and upper body using line on a grey toned ground.

Make short studies and develop an extended self-portrait or portrait using an eraser to establish high lights and light tones and develop shadows in compressed charcoal.

Make short studies drawing directly in line with brush and ink.

Establish proportion and structure of the head and body in pencil and develop an extended self-portrait or portrait in line and tone using brush and ink technique.

At the completion of this course you will have made a series of short drawings that explore how to measure proportion and block-in basic shapes using line.
