Course Summary
Have you ever listened to podcasts and wondered how they do it? This is your chance to enter the world of podcasting, with a course designed for people who have never made a podcast before.
We cover the following content:
- What is a podcast and what makes a good one?
- Different genres.
- Developing a concept.
- Writing questions/script.
- How to record and edit: practical skills including out in the field.
- Where to share: platforms such as Spotify and geo-location apps.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
- Recording equipment (either a H5N recorder or a Lavalier mic that can be plugged into your phone). This is relatively inexpensive. We can recommend some retail outlets that sell these. It is an ongoing investment you need if you’re going to be podcasting on your own.
- A laptop for editing software. Another essential for any podcaster.
Your teacher, Russell McGilton, is a podcast producer and journalist for travel guides and life stories, with over 14 years’ experience in teaching, as well as a published travel writer, scriptwriter, playwright and public speaker.
