Course Summary

This course is for students who have prior knowledge of sewing and using patterns. Sessions are suitable for individuals seeking to refine their skills for commercial purposes or for students who want to start their own business or improve their fashion industry job prospects.

Students will learn to draft blocks for a skirt, trouser and bodice (can then be made into a dress) using their own body measurements. Various professional techniques will be used to identify the appropriate modifications in adapting blocks into various styles. This will be incorporated into practical exercises, class activities, discussions and demonstrations.
Students will be able to employ basic principles of pattern making, to construct patterns, and to acquire skills relating to the correct use of equipment, and how to take body measurements correctly and apply them to the flat pattern.

Notification of a class cancellation will be advised 48 hours prior to the course commencement date. We advise to purchase your materials only when you have received your confirmation email. test
