Would you love to create stunning mosaic pieces for your home or garden? This hands-on course will guide you through the essentials—adhesives, sealants, grouts, cutting techniques, and design applications—so you can bring your ideas to life with confidence.

Perfect for complete beginners, the course offers plenty of individual support. If you’ve dabbled in mosaics before and want to deepen your skills, this is the ideal next step on your creative journey.

You’ll explore a variety of methods and materials as you learn to transform concepts into finished works of art. While mosaic is often seen as a craft—reviving everyday objects with broken tiles and crockery—this course reveals its potential as a powerful visual art form. When this ancient technique meets contemporary design and conceptual thinking, the magic truly begins.

Instead of brushstrokes, mosaics rely on the thoughtful placement of tesserae to create form, line, color, and texture. Whether abstract or representational, mosaic art has a unique ability to shift with changing light. Careful attention to cutting, tesserae selection, and andamento (the flow of the piece) results in striking works for indoors or outdoors.

What you’ll experience:

• Explore different methods and materials while gaining confidence to take your ideas from concept to completion.
• Discover how this ancient art form transforms when combined with contemporary design, creating pieces that play with colour, texture, and light.
• Learn how thoughtful choices in tesserae, cutting styles, and flow (andamento) bring your mosaic to life—whether abstract or representational.

By the end, you’ll have a unique artwork ready to enhance any space indoors or out.
