Join renowned artist and printmaker Dr Anne Bennett for an inspiring, hands-on workshop in a professional studio setting. You’ll explore the essentials of linocut and relief printing, including:

  • Preparing and carving your lino block
  • Transferring your design with confidence
  • Paper handling
  • Printing by hand and using a press
  • Creating a small edition of your own unique prints

Throughout the course, Anne will share insights into diverse artistic approaches and demonstrate how this simple yet powerful medium can bring your creative ideas to life.

Dr Anne Bennett is an experienced visual artist, curator and educator. Anne, whose practice encompasses drawing, printmedia, painting, artists books, and curatorial projects, holds a PhD in Visual Art from Monash University and Master of Art Curatorship from the University of Melbourne.

She has held in excess of 15 solo exhibitions since 1986 including Tolarno Galleries, Pinacotheca, numerous institutional galleries around Australia and an exhibition of large scale monotypes at the Post Office Gallery at Federation University, Ballarat and a performative installation of drawings at The Front, Docklands. She has also participated in excess of 70 group exhibitions, including curated shows at National Gallery of Victoria and galleries in Korea, China, Lithuania and UK.

Please bring to class:

*Apron to protect daywear

*Box of latex gloves or pair of nitrile rubber gloves (available hardware stores)

*Permanent black marker

*Pencils

*White pastel

*Colour pencils or watercolours (optional)

*Notebook and pen for jotting down information

*Some references i.e. photos, drawings, ideas.

 

Additional support will be given in class as needed. 

 

Note: Printing Materials (cutting tools, printing paper, ink) are included in the course cost.

 

Notification of a class cancellation will be advised 48 hours prior to the course commencement date. We advise to purchase your materials once you have received email confirmation that your class is proceeding as scheduled.
