Course Summary

This course introduces adult learners to the essentials of interior design through a combination of design theory, creative thinking, and hands-on digital practice using SketchUp. Across two blocks of 5 classes, students will learn how to understand space, use colour and materials effectively, plan furniture layouts, work with lighting, and communicate their ideas visually.

Part B builds on the foundations of interior design by helping students develop a stronger design concept, improve their technical workflow, explore specialist spaces such as kitchens and bathrooms, and present their ideas more professionally through rendering and final project presentation.

It is a natural continuation for students who want to take their ideas further by developing a stronger design concept, learning more advanced SketchUp workflows, exploring kitchen and bathroom planning, and presenting their work through rendering and final project presentation.
