Course Summary

Indonesian: Elementary 2 focuses on everyday situations learners may encounter in Indonesia. The course concentrates on on short, interactive dialogues with some supporting explanation of grammar. It provides an opportunity to expand vocabulary, create more personalised sentences and use language with greater flexibility and spontaneity.

Listening exercises and reading passages are studied in class while short written tasks are given as homework.

Topics covered include:

  • Shopping
  • Work
  • Sightseeing

Each lesson comes with a cultural component which aims to engage and entertain learners.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Use basic expressions to purchase and compare items.
  • Engage in conversations and ask questions.
  • Accept, decline or give invitations.
  • Use more advanced communication strategies while travelling.
  • Develop an understanding and appreciation of the values and customs of Indonesian-speaking communities.

Indonesian: Elementary 1 (Units 1-4 in Lancar Berbahasa) or equivalent of about 18 hours of previous study.

IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AT CAE, YOU NEED TO CONTACT CAE FOR A SKILL ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO ENROLLING.

N.B. CAE withdrawal policy does not allow for refund or transfer once the course has started in the event that the level of the class is not suitable.
