If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the French language and the French-speaking world, or if you want to communicate with friends, family, colleagues, people in the local community, or people from other countries where French is spoken, this course is for you.

Note: The course is delivered onsite at CAE. If at any stage this is not possible, the course will be delivered online. Recordings of online classes will be available to students.

You will learn how to:

  • Communicate more effectively on a range of authentic, everyday subjects.
  • Develop your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in French.
  • Consolidate and develop your grasp of French grammar, verbs and vocabulary.
  • Extend your knowledge of people and places where French is spoken.
  • Share travel experiences and plans for travel in France or a French-speaking country.

The course content is based on:

  • Cosmopolite 3, textbook and workbook
  • Selected news and current affairs reports presented in French (SBS daily French News, francetvinfo.fr)
  • Selected news and current affairs items presented with videos (sub-titles in French), transcripts and worksheets (TV5Monde Enseigner)

Prerequisites

Have completed Elementary levels and Intermediate 1 & 2 or equivalent.

If you have not completed the previous level at CAE, you need to contact CAE for a skill assessment prior to enrolling.
