It’s time to restore your precious reads to their former glory!  A dying craft, book restoration involves restoring and repairing all elements of the book, from sewing spines to patching paper.

In this short course, you will learn how to repair and restore your favourite books. We’ll cover how to properly assess damage, how to tone paper to match the original, various methods for repairing broken or crumbling spines as well as paper repair.

What You’ll Learn:
• Paper repair techniques
• Corner repairs
• Utilisation of Japanese paper for restoration
• Toning cloth( mixing paint)
• Reattaching broken spines
• Removing tape

This workshop is for absolute beginners and includes all materials and notes.

  • Please bring 3 books that require repair and restoration. Practice books.
