Who is the teacher?
Carolyn Large is a practising fine and textile artist located in the beautiful Macedon Ranges. She actively participates in local art groups, regularly exhibits in regional art shows and enjoys teaching a range of fine arts and textile courses at CAE.
What motivates her?
Carolyn is passionate about all forms of illustration, however her greatest love is drawing animal portraits in soft pastel or charcoal and in teaching others the techniques necessary to successfully complete their own animal portraits. She is constantly inspired by her love of all animals, particularly her own adored pets, and her commission work is in high demand.
Multiple talents
Carolyn’s other artistic passion is the beautiful and versatile craft of needle felting. Using dyed wool fibre Carolyn creates a fabulous array of 3D objects including animals, tiny teddy bears, jewellery, Christmas decorations and more. She also teaches the technique of ‘painting’ with wool to create beautiful 2D works in wool, reflecting the natural environment.
