Japanese Elementary 2 is suited to prospective travellers, people wanting to interact socially with the Japanese-speaking community in Melbourne and overseas and those who would like to further develop their understanding of Japanese culture and customs by learning the language.

The following topics are covered in this course:

  • Adjectives
  • Descriptions of people, places and things
  • Time and time expressions
  • Telephone inquiries

The development of intercultural skills are fostered through discussions of Japanese culture and customs.

By the end of this course students should be able to:

  • Understand two types of adjectives.
  • Use both affirmative and negative forms of adjectives.
  • Describe people, places and things using adjectives.
  • Say dates and days.
  • Ask and tell the time;
  • Describe the duration of activities using various time expressions.
  • Make a simple telephone inquiry.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of Japanese family life, business and education.

Suitable for those who have completed Japanese Elementary 1 or equivalent to about 20 hours of previous study.

IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AT CAE, YOU NEED TO CONTACT CAE FOR A SKILL ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO ENROLLING.
